	<title>Counting Carbs</title>
	<description>
When you are on a low carb diet, you gotta count them. Otherwise how are you going to know what you are eating? That's right, the act of counting carbs is essential. The entire diet is based on how many carbs you are taking in on a daily basis. If you go over the amount that you are supposed to ensure weight loss, then your diet will be ineffective, and if you keep your level of carbs too low it can also be detrimental to the overall health and proper functioning of your body.

However, in our busy lives, trying to count our carbs when we barely have enough to grab lunch at the nearest strip mall seems like a monumental challenge and not just because our math may be rusty. That's where a carbohydrate counter comes in handy.

Ready to start counting those carbs?
Starting a diet is a big step and like most things in life, works better if you put in proper planning and research. Look at the diets with low carbs out there and choose one to suit you and your lifestyle. The most difficult part of any diet is at the very beginning. A diet takes a lot of retraining on your part as well as a good amount of self-disclipine. It will be time consuming but you will quickly get into the swing of it.

So, how does one count carbs? Well you can either invest in a good carb counting book which includes some good recipes to spice up your diet a bit, or you can use the internet. You should plan you diet carefully, especially in the beginning, and plan what to have for snacks and meal times. Be prepared and take your lunch to work, that way you are less likely to fall off the wagon and opt for an easy sandwich at the local store. This is why you need to practice good carb counting.
