Good Carbs Are Great!
It is not always cut and dried when it comes to dieting. Good carbohydrates are vital for everyone to learn about, whether you are fighting the battle of the bulge or just want to be healthy and energized from your daily diet. Information about good carbs can be found on the internet and in books. However, learning about good carbs is not rocket science, so let us guide you through this oft confusing field.
It is all about good carbs, people
The carb kingdom can be navigated with speed and ease! But where to begin? What are good carbs? Let's get straight down to business and address this first!
Basically good carbs are foods in their rawest form -- they have not been processed. For example, white bread, white pasta, white rice, soda and sugary foods have all been processed and are therefore bad carbs. Good carbs include whole-grain bread, pasta and cereals, legumes and vegetables. Eating good carbs will keep you feeling full longer than bad carbs.
When shopping or dining out we have to think about how pure the food we are about to gobble down is. Pre-packaged foods are often processed and loaded with carbs which the body will quickly turn into sugar, giving us an instant boost but then leaving us lethargic and hungry again soon after. This will encourage us to fill up on more sugary, processed foods. This of course leads to weight gain and low energy levels after the initial 'fix'. Consuming good carbs will heighten our overall energy levels and will improve and maintain a healthy, balanced diet.
When you change your mindset for good, carbs are more appealing
It is easy for all of us to fall into bad habits and opt for 'easy' pre-packaged or fast food. However, you are what you eat and investing time and energy into eating good, wholesome food will heighten your energy level, help you to lose weight and maintain a healthy body. Opting for healthy foods and good carbs should not be a passing fad but should be in-corperated into your life forever! You will soon see and feel the benefits and never go back! Balance your carbs and sugar and fat and you will be a happy person.
