Information About Good Carbs
Welcome to the 21st Century!
As we strive to look and feel great, more and more attention is being paid to diet, exercise and beauty products. We want to get the most out of our bodies for a longer amount of time, and that means following a balanced and healthy diet and exercising regularly.
As carb counting diets take a dip in popularity due to their long term health effects, balanced, nutrient rich diets are taking over. Studies have shown that depriving our bodies of good carbs can be detrimental to our health and that even in the short term, diets such as the Atkins diet can have some unpleasant short-term effects also such as diarrhea, headaches and lack of energy, just to name a few.
How to Find Information on Good Carbs
With mountains of books, pamphlets and websites to choose from, it's never been easier to get information on what we put into our bodies every day. There are thousands of diets to choose from, from eating only raw food, to eating only protein to not eating at all and fasting!
If opting for a specific diet is not for you, learning about eating a healthy balanced diet will benefit your body and mind and help you stay healthy and slim. Isn't that what we all want?
Information about good carbs: To achieve a balanced diet you should aim to get 40 percent of your daily calorie intake from carbohydrates, 30 percent from protein and 30 percent from natural fats.
There are two types of carbs: good carbs and bad ones. We want to enlighten you on the good ones to help you keep healthy!
Good carbs are natural and in their pure state, they take longer for the body to break down and therefore provide you with energy for longer and make you feel full and satisfied. Bad carb foods contain few nutrients and do not give you long-lasting energy. This in turn may encourage you to eat more and put on weight. So stick to eating whole-grain bread and pasta, potatoes, raw nuts and brown rice.
Keep it Natural!
We can allow ourselves to slip up from time to time and have a well-deserved treat but adopting a healthy, and balanced diet will help us get the best out of our bodies.
