The carbohydrate myths and realities

A lot of people would love for you to believe that a low carb diet is all you need to embrace if you want to enjoy a long and prosperous life as a thin and healthy person. If only if it were that simple. If you could nix your carbohydrate heavy foods and replace them with high protein, high fat substitutes, and suddenly lose 30 pounds. Ah yes. Whoever came up with this idea was on the right track, but did not see it through. You see, the problem with low carbs is that you need some to survive.

Or at least to be healthy. By embarking on some over hyped and unspecific low carbohydrate diet, people think they are going to immediately become healthier individuals, but this is not at all the case. What you need to do is shift your focus to the good carbohydrates versus the empty calories. Whole grains are very good for you. So are fruits and vegetables. Cakes and white bread are not. You see where we are going with this? It is all about managing your diet overall, not falling for a quick fix sham.
