The Low Carbohydrate Scoop From The People That Know

Massive amounts of low carbohydrate hype (MALCH)

We would all very much like to believe that taking a special pill or eating certain foods in combination with other foods will promote weight loss and take off that extra weight. But, one fact still remains- the only way to take weight off and keep it off is to eat less and exercise more. Most diets will produce results quickly as calories are very restricted, but if dieters do not also begin doing regular exercise and stick to better eating habits, then they will inevitable gain all the weight back and possibly more.

You cannot always believe the MALCH, as low carbohydrates are more complex than people would have you believe. As with a low carb diet, the initial step is to reduce your intake of carbs drastically in the first two weeks and then gradually increase them over the course of a few weeks. Many people experience weight loss very quickly as a result of a low carbohydrate diet, but that loss is at the beginning is water weight. And when regular eating is resumed that weight is very easily gained back.

Often times with a low carbohydrate diet, people don't get enough of what they need.

The advantages of a low carbohydrate lifestyle

The intake of carbohydrates is less than what the body requires for proper functioning. As a result, body fats and proteins are broken down to produce energy for the body. In the case of a low carbohydrate diet, the fatty acids might be totally metabolized, which produces ketone bodies that lead to ketosis. Most low carb diets do not limit the intake of proteins, fats or total calories. Proponents of these diets maintain that this will lead to increased metabolism, when in fact the ketones suppress the appetite- that is the reason that caloric intake would be reduced. But the appetite will return after the diet is over. If you are on a diet, keep reading for some on the following pages for some great low carbohydrate recipes!
